A really nice image....but needs a little something to make it sing......I suggest stronger colour in the sky and raise a few highlights on the train and rails perhaps?

How about changing it to Sepia? The existing tint suggests to be that this might work and I think that colour is not absolutely essential the picture. One adjustment I’d make would be to lift the heavy shadow areas slightly.

Personally I think it looks great, it gives that early cold morning feel to the picture.

Ok following on from the comments, I have used filters to increase the colour range, lifted the front of the train, also the rails and the side of the signal box, how does this compare?

Wow, Tony, that is now a stunning image. So much worth the extra processing. Now the detail in the front is visible, the rails lead the eye deep into the image and the sky is a dramatic feature.

That second image is excellent Tony.

Much better Tony. That is a cracking image, whereas the unprocessed version was a tad dull.

That definitely works Tony, it gives the photo a lot more punch.

Think I prefer the first version, second is a bit too Instagram vibrant for me. Somewhere between the two but closer to the first would do me.

I prefer the second version but unfortunately don’t think the sky looks very realistic on either of them.

It’s a train shot, what’s not to like about it?
