    Follow the yellow brick road....

Yes, I know it's not actually a yellow brick road, but "follow the gravel path" doesn't sound nearly so good.

This is at Tyntesfield, looking out from the shaded courtyard at the rear of the house, through the archway and into a rather bright afternoon.

Well spotted, it works well though I think I would have cropped 1/2 inch off the top and 1 1/2 inch off the bottom to give a bit more impact to the archway, quite a bit of dead in the foreground, though I guess you have left that diagonal line coming from the corner as a lead in line?

Yes - I did look at cropping further, but decided I preferred the lead in over having a larger view through the archway.

Not too convinced about the foreground personally, think I would like more above the arch to give a sense of height rather than a blank base which is having the opposite effect.

              Nice control on the exposure.
