    Ring-necked parakeet

Taken in Windsor Great Park on a sunny day last week. Having failed to successfully stalk a buzzard, and seeing neither red deer nor red kites (the only one in range all the time I was there was as I was parking the car ) I had to make do with a few shots of ring-necked parakeets. Certainly not my favourite bird but at least it's colourful!

Seems there's some in Glasgow, never seen one out in the wild so to speak, nice capture though.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

              Thanks Trev.

It's mainly because they're non-native, but have successfully populated areas around here in their hundreds (or thousands!) following a number escaping in the 70s.
