      Bit of a grab shot we were watching what we thought was a Woodcock and turned to be Snipe and I caught this out of the corner of my eye.

          Thanks Bill, if you look on the flickr image, you can see the poor little Voles face, I even got a glint in it's eye.

                well spotted. I once saw one on Brownsea flying off with an egg he had stolen from a nest and a few minutes later he returned with another one

                      Thanks Steve, when we get a big spring tide close to 6 metres the Montrose basin floods the old salt pans and I have witnessed this before, this time I was in the right place at the right time, Herons also catch the voles as the tide rises.
