    EOS 6D MK2 - HDR

    Hi guys,

Anyone know why it's not possible to assign the cameras HDR mode to C1 or C2.

Also, am I correct in assuming that it would be better to just take three pictures at different exposures and then us post production to do the HDR.

    Regards,

    Charles

    Hi Charles

I'd assume that as the HDR function is disabled by default, and needs to be set for each shot/sequence, that would be the reason behind it. What I do for the odd occasion I use the "in camera" HDR function, is assign it to a quick menu slot to gain easy access to it.

I would always prefer to tripod mount the camera to take the images for HDR - however, I have had some decent success on my 5Ds with in camera HDR, depends on what you are after really.

I would take the three, or even five pictures at different exposures and deal with it post production.

Cheers guys, Lez, I can set the HDR to every shot on the 6D but you can't store it in the Custom settings?!?
I'll go for the post processing, I should be able to store the multiple exposures in C1.

Afraid to say I've just found out it's not possible to store HDR settings in the C1-C2-C3 settings on any EOS Canon Camera (not just the 6D2) - can't find out why though, does seen strange.
