I 'almost' like it but as you say. it is a bit extreme.

Here is the original and a mono conversion in LR with clarity increased and vignette added.....not sure how that bin disappeared and reinstated itself

Out of the three, I prefer the third one.

              Re: Rome

The first is too extrems for me too. Just to be awkward I think the second but just in mono (or the third but remove the vignette which I assume gives the same result!)

Thanks for your input....I can understand the first one would be unpopular....a bit like scratching up a new guitar or buying ripped jeans to mimic character or history....I think I prefer a plain mono.....and I think I agree with removing the vignette....black and white is all that's needed here.

                Thanks again!

The third for me as well. As far as the bin goes, there are remnants from the removal including a displaced shadow on the sidewalk from where it used to sit. Probably better that it came back from its hiding spot LOL!

As they say, it's in the eye of the beholder. I don't find the "real" shots particularly attractive, but I quite like the "treated" one. However, I would prefer to see it with a lighter vignette, perhap fading rather than darkening.
