      One of the words to describe Art Deco was 'Streamlined' and the 1930's certainly saw a great deal of steam locomotives appearing especially in North America. It was done more to make them appear fast and luxurious but there is no evidence that they were!
      The GWR diesel railcars were certainly unique in this country but other examples were seen in Germany & France. Some survived in Corsica until fairly recently.
