    Roe Buck

Now out of Velvet and starting its summer moult. At the moment he's not a happy lad, a younger buck has appeared on the manor and is trying to push his way in amongst the girls

Nice shot, they are getting frisky a bit early aren't they? Usually May or June before silly season starts and deer are charging across roads causing chaos and destruction up here.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

Well caught Trev, I do like it when they stand and stare straight at the camera, the dew on the grass shows well too

            Thanks tigerburnie, Paul, Bill, Stan.

Rather an amusing tale regarding this one in the garden this morning. This buck came down out of the wood and into the garden. By the gap that leads into the garden is a large Hazel bush. It stood behind this bush for a few minutes, when two does came through the gap into the garden, quickly followed by the young buck. That was when the whole of hell was let loose and it chased the young buck around the garden into the field and back up through the wood. It was almost like he was waiting there to ambush him when he came into the garden -- Which he did.
