My first Adder of the year out on the heathland this morning. Not the ideal shot, but there was no one around to remove the dead grass covering its head for me.

Yes a female Stan, have seen a few over last couple of days, but this was the only one that came anywhere near photographic. Don't think they will be around today, we've had a bit of snow overnight.

Mating season soon, I have never seen the males "wrestling", something I would like to capture one day, but our Glens still have snow, so still a bit early for us yet.
