    Red Grouse

I had a trek into the mountains for a change, sadly the light was poor and it kept trying to rain, managed this shot on the way back down.

The hills are coming to life now, most of the snows gone and the waders have arrived, Curlews, Lapwings and Golden Plovers around, no sign of the Ring Ouzels or Dotterels yet and only saw one Wheatear and one Redstart.

The colour of the bird and the vegetation make this a really nice composition.

Like that Bernie, not seen many. Hope to go on a Black Grouse Lek return from my holiday, the only bit I don’t like is the early morning start.

Thanks David, I could hear a Black Cock Lek, but due to the weather I didn't climb high enough to find it, at least I know where they are, roughly.
