    Kestrel 11-04-19

Went back to the nest site this morning as sun direction is much better.

Just as I arrived the male left the nest and the female took his place

She then spent time moving the egg/eggs about before settling down. She did this quite a few times and I was keen to try and see if I could spot the eggs. So I was taking a careful look through binos.

I've photographed this site a few times over the years but today saw something I hadn't seen before. I saw the female lay an egg. Sadly by the time I'd realised what was happening and swapped from binos to camera the action was over.

They have been faithful to you over the years, the shots also seem to get better every year, I guess they are getting used to you now & more relaxed.
