    ID if possible....

I found this in the garden today - SWMBO and I have made a best guess at something round about Blackbird size, but I know there are a number of rather more knowledgeable folks on the forum who might be able to give a better ID.

To give some scale, the optical cube has 2" sides.

Seems big for a blackbird at 2 inches long and the curvature of the bill is greater, but I struggling to come up with an alternative. There was a time when I had a collection of skulls, but that was binned more than 50 years ago. The curvature suggest possibly a Stock Dove?

I would be surprised if it were - we have not had Starlings here for at least 12 years
