    Cross Polarisation

    This is the other "plastic" shot i mentioned in the previous thread which was also awarded a 10 by the competition judge

    I like that Stan, quite different and it works on several different levels, thanks for sharing it. How were the colours achieved? A polarisation effect?

      yes it is the polarising effect - you use a pair of polarising filters - one on the camera and one on the light source (behind the subject) to show stress in plastic which appears as wonderful multicoloured pattern. For the light source you just use a computer monitor (I used my i pad), as provided it is an LCD, it has a polariser built in. The whole effect is produced in camera with very little post processing
