        Thanks guys, I have more, this was as it was about to attack another Grebe getting too close it's nest.

          Yep, Grebe in attack mode. We had a couple fighting over a female in our local lake a few weeks ago but I can't post any shots cos they were all taken with Fuji gear.

          Interesting colouration that - the GCGs down may way are all white-faced where yours is showing black. Are they all like that or a one-off?

            We only have 4 pairs on this Loch in our region, so not sure on the colours

              That's odd, I can see white in the cheeks of the first one now where before it was black. Eye test time methinks.
