Amazing, something I have always wanted to do.

What equipment, how many images, how many darks and how long to process?

    Hi Colin,
All I use is my camera & a tripod - No telescope, no star tracker, no darks or bias frames & no stacking.
This was a small pano, maybe 4 pics but I have done up to 16.
16 is extremely hard on your PC though & that is the reason I got a fisheye - much wider view.
Don't listen to those who would tell you how hard it is, merely point & shoot & get yourself the free Stellarium program so you know what you got a pic of :)

Superb and what a first post, my IPad has a programme, you point it at the sky and the live image on screen tells you what stars are on it.
    Canon 1DX, 50D, EF500 F4.0 L, EF100-400 f/4.5-5.6L I , EF100-400 f/4.5-5.6L II, EF70-200 f/2.8L II, EF180 f3.5L Macro, EF 24-105 f/4L, EF17-40 f/4L, EF2.0X III, EF1.4X III, 430EX II, MR-14EX...

Thanks for your kind words Tony!

I don't have an ipad but that sounds very interesting.
I assume you put in co-ordinates or pick your city from a list for that to work?
