Kestrel 15-05-19

Just back from an excellent break in Madeira so time to check in on the kestrels this morning.

Really warm start to the day and the female was having to pant to try and keep cool

Her posture in the nest certainly looked like something had changed and after a bit of a wait she moved in the nest and it was possible to spot two chicks in the nest, one look fairly recently hatched

In this last image only one chick is visible but 3 eggs can still be seen.
