    The Water Stage

This was a scene from a traditional Chinese play, but instead of a stage, they used a lake. It was produced by the producer of the Chinese Olympic Opening Ceremony and was quite spectacular.

That is a lovely picture Colin, worthy of having it framed.

It rained three quarters the way through the performance. By rain I really mean tropical downpour and all the spectators were out if the open. Very quickly there were members of staff at each row of seats handing out plastic ponchos. The show carried on without interruption and most of the cast were already wearing "Coolie" hats, while the remainder were handed red umbrellas. I didn't see anyone leave the auditorium and we continued watching in the rain ................ the show must go on. So must the photography!

I understand that the following evenings show was cancelled because the lake flooded the auditorium.

I hope you kept your gear somewhat protected Colin, I know the cameras are water resistant but probably not to a tropical downpour!

              Re: The Water Stage

I poked a hole in the Poncho for the eyepiece and that seemed to do the trick. Front of the lens stuck out the front of the poncho and carried on taking shots.

The only downside was my trousers were a bit on the damp side (we are talking chamois leather wet), but between the poncho and Canon weather proofing it was business as usual.
