    Default Any ideas

Previous thread got me thinking. I got in the region of 23000 transparencies the bulk being 35mm but about 2000 being 6x6 and 6x7. Yes, I've had a Mamiya67 and Hasselblad in the past. All are filed away in 'Viewpack' Super Archival Folders either 24, 16 or 12 all being stored in two four drawer filing cabinets. All are catalogued on a 'Access' database.
What do I do with them? Please don't anyone suggest I scan them, I've not got the time or the enthusiasm to do so.
All are of wildlife or environmental subjects taken in various locations around the world. A large number have been published over the years plus every week for twenty five years I wrote a Wildlife column for a publication where again many were used.
I can see what will happen to them!!!!!!

    No idea Trev.

I have a similar problem, also with 6x6 and 6x7. All stored in archival folders with contact sheets and I don't have the inclination or energy to scan them. I did scan some sample ones and a percentage exhibited "Moire effect", albeit in small areas and the effort to scan, plus some time in photoshop to overcome the moire, turned me right off the project.

Thanks Colin. Glad I'm not alone on this one. Can add to the transparencies a cupboard containing 172 cans of 16mm film all 400 feet plus equal number of sound recording tapes all taking up space I need, then there's a Steenbeck four plate editing table with viewer, sound heads and splicer.
As I said previously I know where it will end up.

I know that feeling of regret.

I still have my Philips PCS2000 dichroic enlarger in the loft. Complete with holders and condensers to handle anything from 110 format to 6x7. It has the built in timer and colour mixing console and course and fine focussing control and three Durst Neonon lenses.. It would print to 20"x16" on the baseboard and larger against the wall. In the loft in perfect condition and in its original box.

Cost a fortune with all the options, virtually worthless now and I suppose I know where it is going to next.

I suppose in twenty years time someone will be saying on here " I got an old Canon 1DX Mk11, a 200-400mm f4 L IS and a 600mm f4 L IS in the loft that are absolutely worthless"

Now all sorted - on the bonfire!
A crying shame but no one wanted them or the film, Despite I was willing to give it away to get rid of it. It had to go, what was the point in keeping it. Space now come in handy for my Treadmill machine.

REAL SHAME, I am surprised someone like rspb or natural history museum didn't want them.
