Have just returned from a great trip to Iceland so have missed lots on the forum, will catch up soon.
Thought I'd check in and see how the kestrel family were doing. As a quick reminder this is how things looked 24-05-19

At the time there were 3 chicks and 3 eggs. The remaining 3 eggs never hatched, I had someone take a look every now and then.
So I went to check,17-06-19, soon after my return and this is what I saw

An empty nest, so didn't know if the young had fledged or some catastrophe had occurred. Spent some time wandering round the area and spotted the male in close company of one of the young, all be it a bit too far away.
Then I spotted this youngster perched on the ground

You can still see some remains of down. I was a bit concerned that there may be something wrong with this bird so worked my way closer

It wasn't until I was about 10 feet away and captured this last image it decided to fly away.

So sadly I missed most of the interesting activity with the kestrels whilst on holiday. So that's it for 2019, hopefully they will return next year and I can follow their progress once again.
