    Redwing

    Normally we are use to seeing redwing in the UK during the winter. But Iceland is part of their summer range and they breed there.

            We were blessed with exceptional weather so managed shots in good light. These redwings were nesting in an area of lupins which were intruduced to into Iceland to stabilise soil. As with lots of introduced plants/animals the lupins have been too successful. Management programs are being put into place.
