    That is a great shot Ant. Remember many years ago spending three day while up in Scotand looking for these with no luck.

        Our guide was saying that last time he did this trip, a couple of years ago, they never saw one. After seeing this one we saw them in several different locations. Hope to post some other images as the others have quite a variation in plumage.

                    Nice capture, most of the Munroe's round here have a few Ptarmigans, the ski centres are as good a place as any to see them, Glen Shee near me has quite a few.
                    Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
