    Spitfire flypast panic!

Spitfire flypast over Hereford to mark Armed Forces Day 2019.
It was due to flypast at 13:30 today (Saturday).
At 13:25 the wife reminded me and I panicked.
The camera was in one bag with the small lens attached, the 100-400mm lens was in the other bag.
A quick change of lenses (now 13:28)
I want to set the camera up manually so to focus on the spitfire and not the sky and was taking some reading from a nearby tree when I heard the distinctive sound (it was on time). So I ended up pointing and shooting and basically hoping for the best.
In less than a minute it was gone.

These are not of the best quality but at least I caught the spitfire.

They might not be as good as if you'd been properly prepared but still decent record shots.
I was once prepared and waited an hour for the last flypast of the Vulcan....stood there ages and then found its route had been diverted 20 miles west at the last minute...being prepared comes with its downfalls too had I not gone out so early I might have known about the detour.

Well done for catching it Stephen, this Mk19 has only just been restored to flight by the BBMF after about 5 years out of commission

Thank you Brian, Nigel & Paul

I really love the distinctive sound from these planes.
In 2015 we had a Douglas Dekota do a flyby and the engine sound was beautiful.
