    Gannet

This is the big boy and the main target species of my trip. I have existing shots of Gannets, but rather too far away and I really wanted something a bit closer. Bempton Cliffs is certainly the place for Gannets and a target rich environment. I have deleted images that I would have been proud of previously, such were the opportunities at Bempton. I needed to underexpose the Gannet to preserve some detail in the whites and that also resulted in a beautiful rich dark sea. I thought it was a nice contrast to the Gannet.

Nice piece of work. Your choice of exposure has worked really well.

the dark sky works well. I had similar last year but with nesting material as well which is doing quite well in national and international salons
