Spinner is from my The Beauty Within collection and was composed at the Aiken County Historical Museum in Aiken, SC. I loved the little yellow ring in the center and thought that this periwinkle gave a sense of movement (like the blades of a windmill).

And yes the petals do remind me of windmills especially the multicoloured ones on sticks that children like so much...Nigel
