Thanks guys, this is in the forest I visit regularly, a few feet above it is a feeder with some seed and sunflower hearts in, the birds are messy feeders and this Vole often shoots out to grab something and then vanishes, on this occasion I was ready for it.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

Thanks for the kind comments all, this forest has quite a few long eared and tawny owls, so I guess there must be a good population of small critters. I intend to spend some time here later in the day into the dark to see just what does live here.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

It looks a little dark, perhaps lift the exposure by half a stop
