Lovely Carol and very lucky he staid still for a second or two. They normally seem to land at their burrow and plop straight in, or risk being mobbed by the Black Headed Gulls. It never ceases to amaze me how many sand eels they can carry in their beak, especially as the Arctic Terns only come back with one at a time.

I was on the Inner Farnes third week of June .............. must have just missed you! Did you get attacked by the Terns?

Thank you Colin, Bill and Steve. We were on the Farnes on the 10th June so a little before you, Colin. Yes, they did get mobbed by the gulls if they weren't quick! We certainly did get attacked by the terns! Got a photo of one on hubby's hat turning his head into a pepper pot! LOL

Lovely shot Carol. Especially so its a rear view, I do a lot of wood carving and pictures like this are a good reference when I burn in the feather details on my carvings.
