    Midlands Air Museum

We went here as part of our recent Tractor Club "Boys' day out".

Although not as professionally curated as the Coventry Motor Museum, this is compensated for by the enthusiasm and knowledge of the volunteers who run it.

A fairly packed display indoors and a lot of aircraft outside, including a Vulcan (with cockpit tours, but because of its position, impossible to get a decent photo) and some nuclear weapons.

What an aircraft! (This one is ex Saudi Airforce)

I know this is slightly garish, but it was a dull day and I decided to see what a bit of HDR could bring to the party.

And finally, WE 177 - the RAF laydown nuclear weapon (and Naval nuclear depth charge) - now out of service. A device I have more than a passing acquaintance with. This is a training round, mimicking a WE 177 Type B or Type C (can't tell without looking inside) - it has the external cable ducts which were not needed on the Type A. The large grey objects under the wings are, of course, external fuel tanks for the plane.

A nice set....the Harrier is outstanding of the set for me.
Not garish at all in my view.
