    Female Kingfisher with a Tiddler

    Hi All,

Have been missing again for a while motorhoming in Norfolk and various issues

A 2 hour vigil gave me one visit to a perch for a few seconds, all the time being molested by millions of thunderflies

A stunning image Paul. The 1DXII, 300mm f/2.8 mark II lens and 1.4 III converter is an excellent combination. I assume the image has been cropped.

              Thanks Stephen and Brian.

Yes Brian the image is cropped, the problem of the locations where I find the KF's is that I am always looking 15 to 20ft down into the drains that criss cross the Fens, I only tend to put the perches where I can get the car near at the top of the bank so am not massive distances away but they are a small target of course. The other problem is light, it was poor at the time I took this shot, it's not too bad in the Summer but in Winter there is a very short time when the light reaches the bottom of the drain, often as not it's in shadow
