Sturgeon Moon (nothing to do with Nicola)

While SWMBO & I were waiting for the fireworks to kick off at Plymouth, we were graced by the brief appearance of the moon before clouds obscured it. Apparently the August full moon is known as the "Sturgeon" moon, supposedly because the fish were more easily or plentifully caught in August and early September.

Very calming to look at , I like it . Surprised the moon looks so big at only 105mm .

I assume this is due to the optical effect (illusion?) of the moon appearing large when low in the sky.

Excellent shot John, you got some nice little twinkles from the lights but not so much to be distracting. I like it

            Cheers,

Nice capture in a tricky exposure situation.
