    1dx v 5d mk iv

    Hi im looking to add a full frame camera to my kit and i'm looking to either get 1dx mk 1 or 5d mk iv i will be using them with a 300mm 2.8 is + extenders , 100-400 ii and 500mm f4 is , i do mainly bird photography at sunrise and sunset , would much appreciate any feedback on this please and what people think would be the better option , and any hands on experience on either camera . thanks

    Bird photography and those set of lenses? It has to be the 1Dx - no contest.

          I have a 1DX and 5D III with the same lenses you have (though I sold the 500 recently). I never use the 5D III for bird photography. The frame rate is too slow.

            I endorse the views of the guys above , I shoot 98% wildlife and always use the 1DX and more often than not a 500mm F4 occasionally with a 1.4x tc.

            1DX, and 7D2 ,500mmf4mkii, 300mmf2.8, 400mm f5.6 , 100mm - 400mmmk2 ,70-200mm f2.8 ,24-105mm f4, 100mm f2.8 macro , 1.4x converter, 2x converter and a big dose of luck !!

              One further thought which you are probably aware of is that it will be worthwhile micro-adjusting the lenses, especially the longer focal lengths, which have a shallow depth of field.
