    Taken in a dry river bed at Mala Mala in the Sabi Sand, South Africa.

    EOS 1DX with 300mm f/2.8L IS II lens and 1.4 III converter.

      Very nice Brian, well caught. A creature I've yet to see, I believe their numbers are dwindling. They are now a very rare sight in Kenya.

        Nice one Brian. Their camouflage works rather well against that background. Probably difficult to see if he wasn't moving.

          Thanks for the feedback.

          Their numbers are dwindling and many packs have one of the dogs radio collared for monitoring, though this pack did not. It's tragic what is happening to the wildlife in Africa what with poaching and trophy hunting. In the not too distant future there won't be much left to see and photograph.

          They weren't too difficult to see as there were several in the pack and their markings varied in colour.
