    Emerging Kingfisher

    Not the nest Kingfisher image I have ever taken, but I was pleased with the outcome as it was a fair distance away, taken on a big lens with a 1.4x.

    Very good Colin, not an easy shot to achieve at the best of times. love how you captured the water splash.

          That certainly has the wow factor!

          I don't do birds as you know but I think this may work more graphically with a portrait crop - from the reflection at the bottom to just above the beak and including the frozen water to the left and to the right with just enough breathing room.....just an idea.

          I think the forum got you back Colin....'not the nest' instead of best....having pointed out the 70-700 typo in the magazine this morning!
