    London Tattoo Convention

5D mkIII with Canon 24-70 2.8. indoors with variable light / no flash, don't really 'do' people shots but the London Tattoo Convention was too good an opportunity to miss.

#1 The man, the legend that is Oliver Peck

    #2 one of the vendors

    #3 err, not a lot I can say ;-)

#4 One of my favourite portraits

#5 When no one is taking your photo - take one yourself

#6 Oh go on then -

Didn't take as many as I thought I would - if I'm honest. . . . waaaaaay too many people and we don't 'do' people.

Rest HERE if you fancy a look, any critique greatly received. Thanks.

    .DAVID.

Great set David, Number Four for me too. 'Not a lot you can say' about Number three, Only you would not want to meet it down a dark alley.

They put my one, plus Blood Group to shame.

Took a look at the whole set and some really fine images there. I don't understand the attraction myself, especially the extreme lengths some are prepared to go to, not to mention the pain involved in having them done. My two granddaughters have had some done, I did all I could to dissuade them, but to no avail. I just wonder if some of the people pictured will come to regret their decisions when they get to be my age {70 plus}. I also wonder what prospective employers would think when confronted with some of these characters applying for jobs? Still a great set of images though, well done. Regards, Ian P.

            Re: London Tattoo Convention

Thanks guys, some of it I think is really nicely done and even beautiful - there are also some I think why?
A lot of these guys n girls work within the 'trade' and will do for the rest of their lives, some are performers and some are just exhibitionists.

Tattoo's are a lot more common place then they used to be - dare I say you are classed as 'odd' if you don't have any now but I do agree there are a few you look at, especially the face / head ones and think you are going to really struggle in the future - not unheard of for some to climb the corporate ladders but REALLY difficult.

A well-taken and interesting selection of images David.

I confess I simply cannot understand the urge to deface your body with tattoos, especially where they are visible.

The long-term worry is the effect of the inks in the blood - some of the materials used are not at all good for you.
