I'm not really a steam train buff but I do enjoy capturing an image or two of them. Whilst I was at the Gala a travelling TOG from deepest darkest Lancashire or possibly West Yorkshire! made me aware of the term "Top and Tail". He was a proper railway buff.
I'd not heard the term before in relation to railway language but the present Mrs S uses the term to describe preparing Goosegogs for cooking.
To cut to the chase here is 6023 "King Edward II" in top and tail mode with 62005 "Lord of the Isles"
As always your thoughts and comments are welcomed.
#1 The full Biffta
#2 King Edward II aka The Red Dragon.
#3 62005 The Lord of the Isles playing Tail end Charlie.
