    Surprised and delighted......

    ..... to see this little fellow on and under the feeding station today. This is the first time we have seen a nuthatch at this house, despite having been here for over 20 years. It kept returning for more sunflower hearts every few minutes.

    Not the best image in the world since it is not that bright a day and so higher than desirable ISO (since I had to keep the exposure time short on account of its rapid and erratic movements).

    What a great shot John - why worry about the brightness its a record of what you saw at that time of day

      Thanks Trev - I fully accept what you are saying - the regret was that lower ISO might have given better detail, since less noise to remove.

              Is that a high iso for the camera you were using ? Would of thought it took that iso in it`s stride , anyway it`s a good pic , don`t often see a Nuthatch on brickwork , nice to see one perched on something different .

                Not really, but there is still noise present at that setting and its removal degrades the image.

                Looks like sunshine tomorrow, so providing the little fellow obliges, I should be able to get some better shots.
