Acorn Woodpecker. As the name implies, they depend heavily on acorns for food. We stayed at Don Pedro lake, which is heavily planted with oak trees and we often saw 4 or 5 woodpeckers in the same tree collecting acorns, which they then took and stored in their "granaries" - which can be a dead tree or more often here any any posts or wooden buildings which happen to be available, in fact, there is hardly a post in the entire campground which has not become a granary.
