    Re: cleaning my camera

I did my 400D myself using a soft lens brush and then a blower, making sure that the lens opening was pointing downwards so the dust fell out rather than in. Seemed to work OK and didn't end up with any sensor dust that wasn't already there.

        Richard,
I use an Arctic Butterfly on my 50D sensor and it keeps all the dust bunnies at bay.

          Re: cleaning my camera

Personally I wouldn't let a blower anywhere near my camera bodies. They simply launch the dust so it can land somewhere else.
          Cheers

Please feel free to critique or rework my pictures unless I ask otherwise.

          Oh Lord won't you buy me a 300mm F2.8L (or at a push, a 200-400 F4).

              Richard,
Have a read of this..... http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/forums/thread7028.htm

              It is about sensor cleaning

              EDIT:
A better link for you, the actual tutorial rather than the thread adding bits and pieces to the tutorial....http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tut...r-cleaning.htm

Richard. If it's a hair type object (thread) rather than a dust speck these can be a problem to shift. I once watched a Canon Technician trying to remove a very short hair that had 'stuck' to a focusing screen. It took nearly 30 minutes to get the blighter.
