Leaf Veins

This is a shot of a Poinsettia leaf backlit by a Speedlite 430EX.
I killed the ambient light by using the max sync speed and used a small aperture to get maximum DOF as the leaf wasn't perfectly flat.

This was shot at almost 1:1, and I applied +1EV FEC to brighten the subject.

Av: f/22
FEC: 1EV
Lens: Canon EF 100mm f2.8 Macro

Almost no post processing apart from brightness, contrast and sharpening done to the RAW file in DPP.

An Avatar is the little picture under our names.

It can be anything you like, but a lot of people have a picture of themselves. Mine is me in my favourite hat and favourite lens. Adrian is using the leaf veins shot.

Good detail and the diagonal composition works well. Almost looks like a lot of forest tracks viewed from above

Stan, I agree with you, the veins do sort of look like tracks through a forest.

raymon, Avatar was something I've tried to forget, I wish I could get those two hours of my life spent in the cinema back, lol.
