Sd card for canon 550d

I currently have an 8GB SanDisk Extreme HD Video SD Card @ 30MB/s

I would like a 16/32GB card...

However they are expensive £££!!!

Could anyone recommend anything else I.E another type of card or is it best to stay with this card?

Stephen, the 16GB is perfect and a great price. Think thats the one! Will be ok with my Canon 550D shouldn't it? Sorry I'm still new to this...

7 day shop are £2.00 more expensive for this card and out of stock, Amazon are a good.

Kingston is a reputable brand that has had its roots in computer memory for a very long time. I have several Kingstone CF cards that have been totally reliable

When I started out with Digital SLR cameras, a few years ago, I used a less known brand of memory card.
It wasn't until I bought Sandisk memory cards that I noticed a difference and what a difference.
I was gob-smacked by the read/write speed compared to the other brand.
I can, without reservation, recommend the Sandisk Extreme brand of memory cards.
They are brand leaders for a reason.
Amazon are a good source for "genuine" branded memory cards at good prices.
I would however avoid eBay for such cards as too many fakes are still being sold on on-line auction sites.

Thats really good to know thank you! I alwasy use eBay cautionly for the very reason you have just stated.
I am a big fan of amazon and in case, they will be by source :).

I bought 3 cheaper Transcend cards that perform just as well 'in the camera' as the Sandisk Extreme, but 1 of the Transcend cards transfers extremely slowly when used in my card reader. All my Transcend cards are labelled the same! Not sure if I have 1 slower version or not, ioncorrectly labelled!

Been very happy with Sandisk - no issues what-so-ever! I'll be sticking in future with Sandisk Extreme!
