A Few from the Peak District

We dropped our daughter back at Sheffield Uni yesterday morning, and spent a couple of hours walking in the beautiful countryside just a short distance away. In particular the Ladybower Reservoir and surrounding snow covered hills were beautiful in the winter sunshine.

    Hi Graydon,

Good pictures. I've walked around there many times - my mother lives just outside Bakewell. Funnily enough been visiting her today, but didn't venture very far, to bloomin' muddy! I like like #3 - that really does look bleak & cold.

What's your daughter studying? My eldest lad went to Sheffield uni, studying maths & now he teaches English in Japan. Funny old World, isn't it?

        Hi Neil,
She's studying East Asain Studies and would like to work out there somewhere. she had a gap year working in a school as a teaching assistant and has been bitten by the travel bug. Poor old mum and dad will be left along worrying.
Sounds like you have that already (?)

              Hi Graydon,

My lads went to Japan for a year................5 years later - still there. Loves the place. If your daughter goes there she couldn't be safer. Tokyo is an extraordianry place, but I wouldn't like to live there, but I'd say the same about London - great for a visit, but.............
