Some super shots, there was something similar posted on another forum where the photographer had used a private hide and the kingfishers were encouraged to dive with fish in a tank submerged in the water. Wonder if this is the same - whatever, still very difficult shots to nail

Amazing shots and a very persistent photographer. One hopes that his persistence did not have a detrimental effect on the kingfishers. I wonder if he baited them as Stan suggested - small fish captive in a glass tank just below the surface. If you continually bait a wild animal what happens to it when you stop? Let's hope the photographer has a deep concern for his kingfishers and has worked in such a way as to not disturb their natural behaviour.

yep same shots baited tank ,the guy has hides all over scotland apparently ,just a money making spin off ,personally i would rather go to the zoo ,theres very little skill in this ,at least i can hold my head up high and say all my shots are taken in there own environment ,i might put out seeds or nuts but the birds or animals then make there own choice .
those kingfishers are reduced to little more than performing dogs imho
