    Old Melbourne Gaol

Now a very photogenic tourist attraction, but formerly a grim Victorian gaol in Melbourne.

Looking along the length on the first floor landing:

In mono, from the top floor:

And the scaffold, as 'used' by Ned Kelly amongst others:

All hand held, albeit supported from various bits of furniture.

Nice series Alex well captured [emoji106].
I do remember visiting this museum. A very interesting place that must have been an awful place to be incarcerated. The person that guided us around said the stone floor is York stone that apparently was used as ballast on the early ships.

To think we deported them to HMP Prison Australia where they locked each other up again.. some superb images and lit to maximise the impact.

Mono one for me too, probably due to the light in the foreground not showing, have you considered on the colour shot dimming down the lighting on the side a little as the image wants to draw you into it to the far end, but the lights on the wall draw the eye away.

All good Alex - but I think the mono one just edges it.

Thanks all. Please no-one picked me up on the slight twist in the mono one that I wasn't quite able to correct.
Tony, great call on the overly bright lighting from the signs on the ground floor. which hadn't struck me before. I really like the punctuation of the lighting coming out of the cells so I'll have a go at toning them down to match.

Good and interesting set, I like the symmetry of the shots, think I prefer the mono, the subject seems to suit it
