    Comet PanSTARRS

    Hi,
    My first posting.
    CometPan-STARRS 2013-04-02 20-00UT MLewis.jpg.
    Here is my shot of Comet PanSTARRS from 2nd April at 20.00UT with my Canon 500D. This was from St Albans UK. I used a 75-300mm EFS zoom lens at 105mm and f5.6, @800ASA. This was a stack of nine 10sec exposure stacked in Deep Sky Stacker.

    A closer view is here;

    This was a stack of 20, 10sec exposures at the 200mm setting on the same lens.

    Cheers,
    Martin

        Hello Martin and welcome to the forum.

        Two great images of the comet, well done.
        You must be looking forward to the other brighter comet later this year.

            Yes,
            I had plenty of cloud too. Would have liked to have got it a few weeks earlier when it was much brighter but quite pleased with the end result. Should have said, the camera was mounted on a tracking platform for both shots to follow the stars.

              Hello Martin and welcome to the Forum.

              My part of the country was cloud bound, so many thanks for posting your images.

                  Excellent images. Never got to see the comet, every time I tried the weather intervened. Hoping for better luck later in the year.
