Apollo 8 Earthrise

Wasn't sure on best place to post this but Astrophotography seems right.

NASA have created a visualisation of the moments leading up to the iconic Earthrise photo taken by Bill Anders onboard Apollo 8, Christmas Eve 1968. It includes the onboard voice recordings of the astronauts as they discover this amazing photo opportunity.

I know it wasn't taken on a Canon EOS or Canon anything else but I don't think that should bother anyone here. We probably all know what they were using anyway and if you don't, it is mentioned during the scene setting.

Earthrise from Apollo 8

Hope you enjoy this as much as I did. I was too young to remember this when it happened but one of my earliest of memories is of my Dad getting me out of bed very early on on July 20 1969 to see Neil Armstrong step on to the moon - I was hooked from then on.

Scott thanks for posting this link, unfortunately I am old enough to remember it from the first time round but it still is a fantastic picture and one that brings back a lot of memories.
