First real try at night sky

As title, this was taken on holiday recently. I light painted the foreground with a simple led torch.

I like the detail you have captured in the sky ,for me personally the foreground in just a tad bright as I would want the sky to stand out more I do like the composition as well

I too like the composition and the sky looks great but the foreground is a bit bright and takes the attention away from the great night sky

Nice sky - if only England offered such dark-skies

I really like the image Glyn and while it was a great idea to put some light into the foreground, perhaps we ended up with a little too much.

I hope you don't mind, but I have had a quick play to ease back the foreground and concentrate our attention on the wonderful starscape.

Thank you all for your comments, I got carried away with the light painting. My first few were more like Colin's version so I started off ok. Next time I will be more careful.
                  Thanks again

                        Nice work indeed Glyn.

You captured the Milk Way very nicely, and it does look much better with the foreground darkened.
