    The Road to Valhalla

Sometimes an aurora can give the illusion that it arises from some distant hill and them ascends upwards to the stars. No wonder the Vikings thought it was the spirits of dead warriors on their way to heaven

Thanks to everyone who looked and commented.
Antoeknee- it was taken on the main ring road from Godafoss to Myvatn in North Iceland.
In winter time, despite this being the main (and only) road that circumnavigates Iceland, you rarely see any vehicles on it so it's quite safe to set you tripod up on the road itself.
