      Thanks Stan, it is on a black magnetic glass board I found this has a much better reflective surface than perspex, it is also much more rigid

          my black perspex is 5mm thick but it shows every speck of dust even as soon as wiped clean

              My board also shows the dust and needs wiping for each shot but I find that being glass it has a much harder surface and doesn't show any scratches

                  Shooting it on the black with the reflection makes for a beautiful shot

                    Can I ask where you obtained the black magnetic glass it sounds like a useful prop for macro reflection images. I too like Stan have black Perspex and even though it has had very little use with macro you can see the imperfections on it's surface

                      I got my black magnetic glass from Homebase, it is used as a kitchen magnetic note board and measures 35cm x 35cm not big but big enough for most of what I want
