    Astons at the Ace Cafe

Canon EOS 60D 1/250 at 5.0 ISO 250 RAW EF17-40mm f/4L USM (at 17mm) with external Flash as it was rather a dull day.
Basically desaturated the image and upped the contast a bit in Photoshop.
Seemed a natural choice to do this in B&W as the Cafe is painted Black & White!

Ah, I can see why you decided to go B & W. For me though, the colour looks good.

I like the B&W version best.

A few 'bobs worth' of motors there!!

Seeing the Ace Cafe is very dejavu for me, it being the motorcylists meeting place back in the 1950s and 1960s, when the place would be full of bikes like Norton, Triumph, HRD, Velocette, BSA, AJS, Matchless, and Royal Enfield, with not a Japanese bike to be seen

@Dave_S I wouldn't have been welcome at the Ace back in those days!

Of course this Ace is not the same as the old Ace from the 60's - it moved

                      Thanks for the comments guys
They have a history wall upstairs and it says (breifly) that it was opened in 1930, bombed in 1940! It was rebuilt on the same site after the war (the skeleton of the building houses the current Ace Cafe).
It became a tyre & battery fitting company in the 1980's. In 2001 it finally re-opened as the Ace Cafe.

DaveH....thats a Vanquish S, you can still buy a used one for around £70.000

Ah, I didn't know that, but then I haven't been round the North Circular Road for over 30 years or more.

I don't think so. I live about a mile away and I remember it being in the same position as it always was when it re-opened. Here's a link to their history. Worth a read.
                          Regards ,

Thanks for posting that 'link' Norman, that was a real nostalgia trip

Even some pictures of the long forgotten Triton bike, which was a home built combination of the famous Norton Featherbed frame, and the Triumph Boneville engine. Magic!!
