    What's your favorite food on a cold day?

    Was a blistering cold day today, so before taking my wife out to the outdoor booths in Bethlehem I made some Rum Raisin Bread for us to have with a glass of wine and some apple butter by the fire when we got home.

    If I am out stalking wildlife in the winter, a vacuum flask of hot Mulligatawny soup. Hot, spicy and takes the chill off straight away.

      I too take a flask of soup out with me, although it's usually Tomato, and some bread n cheese.

        I'm with Colin a flask of Mulligatawny and another of coffee with some brandy/whiskey.

          A Scots friend suggested that if you want a Tipple to keep out the cold, 50% Drambuie and 50% Whiskey does the trick. The sweet Drambuie counteracts some of the harshness of the Whiskey.

                      A flask full of lamb or beef stew with some crusty bread and a hip flask of honey&sloe whiskey.

                          I find drinking alcohol and togging dont mix! Anyway alcohol is a vasodilator and will in fact make you colder. Hot soup and a crusty roll for me.

                              I haven't had Mulligatawny soup for ages. Can't get it here. I now have a craving.
                              Use to love Heinz Mulligatawny. That is good on a cold day with fresh bread.
