    A Baptism

Today I was asked to photograph a Baptism for our churches web site. I was not allowed to use a flash, and I was to photograph the Baptism from the balcony. I first spot metered using my sekonic hand meter and came up with the reading of 1/50 sec @ f/5.8, ISO 8000.

So I then manually set the camera for 1/60 sec @ f/5.6, ISO 6400

    Camera: Canon SL1 (100D)
    Lens: EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L

    The Baptism @ 214mm

Presenting the child at the Alter @140mm

Presenting the child to the congregation @ 100mm

I really like the 1st shot, Tom. It's a nice composition and interesting to look at. It might be a little better if the guys head hadn't been crop off?

      Re: A Baptism

I prefer the second and third, with the first, apart from the head as Andy mentioned, the candle seems to cut the image in half

        Re: A Baptism

Thanks Andy and Stan. The point of interest was the child, unfortunately the Acolyte got in the way, only leaving me a narrow window to get the water being put on the head. Wasn't interested in any other adults in the shot.
